First Shots

I savoured every photo of my first roll of film that I took with my Diana Mini Lomo camera.  Just as well as they didn't all work out, but I am quite pleased that many of the shots that I did whilst on holiday in Cape Town did.  Here are a few...

A busy week...

This week is a busy, but exciting one:
You can shop and see some new Cupcake Couture accessories at Treasures for Charity on Thursday at Max Gateway.
I am also sponsoring a prize for a cupcake competition being hosted by the I heart Market team at The Food Market.
Hope to see you there.

A new belt for Cupcake Couture

A small dose of inspiration hit me when I needed a pretty outfit for a friend's wedding.  We all know that shopping in South Africa or rather in Durban doesn't always allow for that "dream outfit".  I decided to pull together some pretty buttons, diamante, tulle and one of Cupcake Couture's white heart belts.  All together it added a quirky, but chic touch to my ensemble.  Lovely wedding plus dream outfit.

I finally had some time and sunshine to take some photos - I hope you like them.  Oh and also shopped at a dear chocolate shop and found some pink hearts to add.  Post shoot they were good to eat too!

The Bean Table

Meet The Bean Table...the latest addition to our little home.
Thank you for the compliments on The Retro Table!  Our flat decor is coming along nicely.
We found the bowls and vase at one of our favourite vintage places and the colours really come alive when you put them all together.

Happy Weekend...

What are you doing this weekend?
I am going to do some creative things, do a little bit of vintage shopping, take a nap and tidy my house plus develop some film from the last batch of photos that I took with my Diana Mini. x

A Collection

Several collections and paired together posts have inspired me this week.  The most prominent ones being from A Collection a Day and the Mr Price Blog for paired up perfection that you can take a look at here.

I created my own collections of items that are similar colours rather than like items and paired them with redesigned album covers by Littlepixel with the thought 'what if records were books'.

The small collections are random things around me on most days that seem to just blend all together.

My City

This is what I saw and liked this weekend in Durban - my city.

Oh Joy...

Today I finally finished all the allocating of 'package partners' for The Package Project.
Please pop over to the blog to check on the details.

Wishing you a very happy week...enjoy this illustration from Suzy Ultman.

Market Love

This week I did a post here about I heart Market...take a look if you like.

Our new retro table

Daniel my fiancé made this retro inspired table for our home. We are working on our decor as we love our little flat and have decided to stay in it for another year. I will keep you up to date on the progress. I styled it with two vintage clocks and a little white bird ornament that I found at a sample sale. Thinking of using it next to the couch for holding a glass of wine or a cup of hot chocolate come winter. Home is where the heart is.

Happy Mother's Day

A special Mother's Day package for my mother dearest.  I decorated it with a corsage, vintage button, and doily detail.
I hope you got spoilt or did some spoiling!

The Next 48 Hours

Very excited to see Cupcake Couture featured in The Next 48 Hours - a weekend guide for Cape Town.  It offers a full planner of events to get the best out of your weekend.  Thanks to The Fringe Arts for letting little Cupcake Couture spread its wings in CT, Thessa and the team have done such an amazing job on the marketing!  You can see the full article here as my posted image is not that clear.  Sunday is the last day of The Fringe Arts pop up shop at Spier Contemporary, but they are releasing the location of the next pop up shop next week.

More about me...

Mooi Moments

My internet works again!  Miracle!  I thought I would celebrate with a pretty post to inspire some new month shopping.

Mooi means nice in Afrikaans and can be used as slang in English too.  Mooi is a treasure trove shop that Cupcake Couture stocks.  You can find them on the corner of Bulwer and Clark Roads...look out for pretty dresses flapping in the breeze or their mini tepee tents on the grassy patch outside.
Take a peep at all their pretty finds that are true to the word MOOI!

This Week

This week has flown by in a hurried rush.  Luckily the weekend is here.
I am off to I heart Market to shop and take some photos which will be featured on the I heart Market blog.  I won't have a stall at this month's market because it is a friend's kitchen tea and I need to go and eat some cake!

I leave you with a lovely blog that I discovered this week.  The On the Prowl Vintage Blog.
Happy weekend dearest ones!

One more thing...my internet is having a moment and so I am on and offline whenever it feels like working so please forgive me if I don't reply to you straight away.  Hoping to have it fixed early in the new week.
