Hello Joburg

I Need Your Insight...
I am in the process of planning the Joburg workshops, but I am unsure of which venue to use. I have had a few people telling me where not to hold the workshops, but no suggestions on the right place. This is where I need your assistance on great recommendations for a venue.

Here is the general criteria:
  • It needs to be a pretty space, with room for tables and chairs to be laid out.
  • It needs to be great on the hospitality side and look after the attendees in the best possible way, water jugs, amazing meal, organised etc.
  • It needs to have the layout or potential availability for a projector or TV, so I can show you slides and examples.
With these ideas in mind, a hotel seems to work well, but which hotel and preferably a boutique hotel.  I am also open to using a coffee shop or an alternate venue.

Please leave a comment with your ideas, I will really appreciate it! If I use your idea - I will be sure to pop something lovely in the post to say thank you!

  1. have you tried the Maslow Hotel? Central and seriously adaptable! Here's their website: http://www.suninternational.com/maslow/Pages/default.aspx

  2. Hi Nadia, Have you ever thought of doing a workshop in East London in the Eastern Cape? I would really love to attend one of your workshops :)

  3. Hi - I would like to do one in the future, but it really depends on the demand for it. I will add it to the list for a possible option in 2014. Thanks.

  4. Clico Boutique Hotel in Rosebank, possibly the best (but most pricey) would be Summerplace - otherwise for a slightly more quirky venue, maybe somewhere at 44 Stanley?

  5. Oh please come to East London!!! Add it definitely to your list for 2014 - YAY!!!

  6. The Winston Hotel is great too.

  7. I went for a site visit here the other day, http://www.emoyeniestate.co.za/. One room has large glass windows overlooking Joburg and Sandton.

  8. Hey Nadia, what about Wolves in Illovo, I think you've been there? Angie and Shane are really good hosts and its a very cool and creative space.

  9. Hi Nadia,

I think Morrells could work. They are a gorgeous venue and are quite central. Great ambiance and super food. I know of corporates that have used them for seminars. http://www.morrells.co.za/

Alternatively you can try the Petit Four coffee shop in Northcliff (quite central) or the one in Kramerville (the design and decor area of Jozi). You can email the owner, Magdaleen at petitsfoursdeli@gmail.com

  10. Thank you so much for all the comments! I really appreciate the help! x

  11. Hello - It struck me that I used your venue suggestion for my Jhb workshops last year and in the post I promised to send something to the person who came up with the winning venue. Please get in touch so that I can get your address. I always like to fulfil promises. x

Port Elizabeth would definitely love to get in on the action as well :)
I'd totally attend a workshop in PE ^.^
